I’m partly paraphrasing Esther Woolfson in her wonderful book Corvus: A Life With Birds in referring to my own instinctive, atavistic sense that barriers and differences between species, i.e. mammals (inc. humans) avians, reptiles, insects etc. are flimsy and are mainly a human construct, that the commonality of life is what really matters. But, rather than having developed this feeling through experience, for me it has been there always and forms the central premise for what I do creatively. My view is that the world is shared by “us” for this few ticks of the clock and that all of us are valid, invaluable and magnificent.
